Community Development Analysis

Clean Air Tampa Bay is working with stakeholders to identify projects, programs, and policies to reduce emissions in sources and improve sinks. Understanding community needs helps prioritize projects, programs, and policies. 

Using the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool and Environmental Justice Screening and Mapping Tool, a community analysis is conducted in each county in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. These tools identify low-income communities and environmental and socioeconomic indicators that impact those specific communities. 

Consistent with the Justice40 Initiative, a benefits analysis is conducted in low-income and disadvantaged communities to assess the benefits of greenhouse gas reduction measures within each community to help increase climate resilience, improve access to services, and create jobs.   

Review each county's preliminary analysis identifies demographics, comparisons to state and national percentiles, and individual needs for identified low-income communities.
